A big archaeological site featuring dwellings from Iron Age, Bronze Age to the Vikings. Superb ocean view and ample place for kids to explore and play around. I like the video in the Visitor Center that portraits the old time image of the dwellings. There is also a seashore right by the site that my kids enjoyed seeking for sea creatures and pretty rocks.

Oh this place is fantastic to see! 4,000 years old with housing ruins from all different periods. An audio tour is included in admission fee. An ubelievably well preserved wheelhouse. Can't praise it enough.

Great historical site with evidence of habitation from the bronze age to the medieval period. There is an entry fee but Historic Scotland / English heritage members go free. There is a small gift ship and visitor centre.

Wow! Amazing. The audio guide is great, would have been 5 stars if they had offered guide tapes in German or French in addition to English

We visited during the off-season so the visitor centre was closed, which meant we couldn't get the audio guide to take around the site. However, the rest of the site was open and free to walk around (instead of paying the ~£5 entry fee) and there are some information boards to read. There's so much history to discover at this site and fantastic views of the surrounding area from the top of the spiral staircase in the central building on the hill. We'll definitely be returning sometime when the visitor centre is open so we can learn more from the audio guides.
